Surprised, stunned and scared, Death came to me. "What's the matter death?", I asked. "What makes you so afraid?"
"I am supposed to take you. But you frighten me." Shocked by the response, I asked, "Haven't you taken away even the Most dangerous of 'em all, yet you're Afraid of an 18 year old boy?"
"I am Death. Humans don't scare me. But there's something about you. I don't know what it is, That makes you so eerie. Is it the darkness inside you Which I can't fathom? Or is it your zeal to live?"
Yet again stunned by Death's response, "Is my darkness so dreadful that even Death is scared of me?", I thought. So I decided to meet my darkness, To find out what it is. I met my darkness in its chamber. To my surprise he was chained up inside.
"Who did this to you?" I asked. "YOU. You are the one who doesn't let me go. You love me, admit it." Baffled by the response I asked myself, "Is he right?" "Oh yes!", answered my inside light.
Then came the dilemma that demanded immediate answer. "Should I keep my darkness that's been with me always, which made me the person I am? Or should I let it go and be a completely different person?"
Darkness has always been a part of me. But it's time. I've never embraced the light inside me. So I unchained my darkness. "Here, Death. You can take him instead. You don't have to be afraid of him now. My belief in it made it fierce and dangerous. But now it is neither."
So death left and my darkness died. Now light has become my zeal to live afterall.
